Charles C. Schmidt, CAA
Associate Executive Director
Chuck Schmidt is the Associate Executive Director for the Arizona Interscholastic Association. A graduate of the University of North Dakota, Chuck continued his education at Valparaiso University, where he earned his graduate degree. While attending Valparaiso University he started his career in educational athletics as an assistant baseball coach. Moving to Arizona in 1996, he accepted a position at Valley Lutheran High School in Phoenix.
Chuck joined the AIA in 2000 as a coordinator and was promoted to Assistant Executive Director in 2002. Chuck served on the 2009-2013 NFHS Strategic Plan Committee, was a part of the team that originally developed and launched the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course, and has been a member of the National faculty for Character Counts since 1999. Since 2006, as the Chief Operating Officer of the AIA, Chuck continues to oversee the operations of the AIA reporting to the Associate Executive Director.
